After creating the crane handle and the rotating thumb, Mark, the owner of Sensei, had established himself as a trailblazer of shear design. With this reputation, he was sought out by a factory to see if improvements could be made on the VG10. Taking advantage of the resilience of the metal, Mark increased the hardness, creating CMV, a metal capable of holding an even sharper edge than the VG10. In addition, he created the metal in brand new factories with more sophisticated furnaces and processes, resulting in fewer impurities with tighter grain structure compared to the VG10. From the warm glow of the high-tec furnaces, CMV was delivered. To give Mark the intellectual credit, the factory granted Sensei Shear Systems a 10 year exclusive to the new CMV formula.
